This week we started mind melds with folks from MIT, Punahou School and our Bizgenics Gang. The aim was to measure interest in building a new innovation platform for high school students powered by Bizgenics® Innovation Framework.
MIT Launch Club
Our first great ingredient: MIT’s Launch Club gang from Cambridge, MA. Laurie Stach & Marvin Vilma of MIT Launch Club and Tom Henry, Philanthropic Advisor at MIT sacrificed a week out of Boston’s beautiful snow season to attend our meetings in Honolulu. Our strategy was to shut up and listen. And it worked. In the process, we learned how MIT is able to light up students and bring them in droves. We also learned about their innovation path, based on a best-selling book by MIT professor Bill Aulet entitled Disciplined Entreprenuership. That one’s now on top of our reading list.
Umbrella Drinks
You can’t under estimate the power of an umbrella drink. Big ideas come from small cups. But beyond drinks, poke bowls, walks on the beach and general good times facilitate breakthrough thinking. So thanks to Mark Loughridge and daughter Chloe for hosting epic discussions at both Punahou School, their house on the beach and around Honolulu.
Punahou School
Thanks also to the smart and open minds at Punahou School, specifically hosts Paris, Emily, Debbie, Craig, Doug and Holly. We look forward to creating an entrepreneurial project-based learning platform that will take students to new heights as well as engage alumni in a fun and child-safe manner.
Looking forward to a couple of great partnerships with MIT & Punahou!
